I have a 2001 M/Benz A160 Auto with 82000 kms with full service history. At this mileage i need to replace the gearbox. I've been told by numerous motor dealers as well as Gearbox centres that this is a common problem on the A160's. MBSA are in total denial there ever was a problem with these gearboxes as well as wont accept any sort of responsibility that the product is inferior as it only has 82000 kms and now needs a new gearbox. If the car had been abused then yes i understand but it's well looked after and maintained Mercedes that needs a Major gearbox replacement is shocking from a consumer's point of view. MBSA's atitude is ''well take it up with the ombudsman''.Big boys feel nothing for the little man in the street.
