I bought a brand new Toyota Hilux d4d in Feb 2012, and detected a strange noise in the gearbox from the start. After repetitive complaints, and services during which no fault could be found in the gearbox, I suddenly was told during its 40000km service (Feb 2013) that there was a problem, and the vehicle had to be sent away for gearbox repairs. My business suffered for 4 days without the vehicle. Now, after only 10000km, on its 50000km service, I am told there is still a problem, it will have to be sent away again for gearbox repairs. I can not afford to be without transport for another 4 days, my business will obviously suffer. When I spoke to Mr van Rooyen of Toyota Pretoria North today, I requested Toyota SA to replace the faulty gearbox with a new one. I was told that they would not comply. This unacceptable to me, I do not regard this as excellent service from Toyota SA.
