I picked up a car from Tempest at Cape Town International Airport on 30 December 2012 and given the car keys without an inspection of the vehicle. Upon returning the car days later, I was informed of a dent on the front passenger door. I queried this as I hadn't had an incident while the car was in my possession and indicated that an inspection hadn't been done when I picked up the car. I was dismissed as a, though I've readily admitted and gladly paid for repairs when one of their rentals was scratched while in my possession in the past. It has just dawned on me that I took out insurance on the rental and am wondering what this cover was for if not to cover dents and the like. I have emailed Tempest about this and am now being ignored.
