I am thoroughly unimpressed with Tempest Car Hire. I am going away for the weekend with friends, and we booked a 7-seater Daihatsu Terrios from the Cape Town branch. They gave us false information, saying that the booking was confirmed and that the car had a tow bar. We were planning to leave this morning, but when my friend Adam Young went to fetch the car, they told him it had no tow bar and that they had no other vehicles available. Now we are scrambling to find another car from a different rental agency. If we actually end up finding another car to rent, it is likely to be extremely expensive as it's the last minute. This may well ruin a weekend that we have been planning for months. I am disgusted that Tempest Car Hire's attitude was apathetic and the employees at the Cape Town branch did not seem to care about the botched booking.
