I rented a car in February for a month, and unfortunately another vehicle reversed to the Avis's vehicle in the parking lot. Luckily the person driving the vehicle was a responsible person who was happy to provide his insurance details. The car had minor dent in the rear bumper. I reported the incident immediately, and I was advised to report to the police station. I did, and I was told that I should keep the car since it was drivable and it had a minor dent. Upon the car return in March I was ordered to pay just over R6000.00, and I was told that Avis will contact the insurance of the third party since he was happy to cover the damage and provided his insurance details. I contacted Avis several times about the matter which includes the email, telephone and personal visit. I got confusing and conflicting responses. I spoke to the lady at claims department a month ago who had no clue whatsoever about customer services. She said East London had not yet send a car for repairs. To date I haven't heard from Avis.
