Avis do not live up to their name and lack good business ethic.
"We try harder" is nothing more than a business cliche for Avis.
Here are the facts:
In May 2012 my vehicle was involved in an accident and my Outsurance Policy allowed for the use of a rental vehicle. Unfortunately the company which provided the vehicle was Avis.
When I returned the vehicle pointed out to the attendent (the attendent did not even notice) that the tyre sprare had a puncture and had been repaired a day before. The care was then signed off!
Imagine my shock a month later when I receive a call from a collection company advising me that I owe Avis R1000 for :
1) Tyre Damage and Rim Damage
2) A scratch on the rear bumper
I naturally have dispiuted the payment and called for proof which never came.
The principle issue as as follows:
1) Avis naturally caters for improving their profitability with these type of unethical practices
2) Avis signs off a car and then later claims scratches - how legal is this?
Becuase I have applied for a loan for my holiday home - I have been literally bullied to pay R1186.63
It is a question of principle which Avis lacks!
