I'm still in shock and I am also puzzled at the same time. I rented a 1.4 Polo vivo hatch through my insurance, a deposit of R750 was deducted from my cheque card for fuel, I returned the car after only travelling 264km and the fuel gauge had not even reached half tank. A further R566.68 was charged on my account, mind you the deposit of R750 is still not released back to my account till today, right now my balance is showing negative and I have a debit order that is suppose to go through tonight and I think this is really unfair.
The fuel tank on this Polo vivo is 45litres and the current fuel price in my area is R12.24 per litre. How does one explain the amount of R566.68 that was charged for fuel whereas it had not even reached half tank when I returned the car and for only 264km I travelled? This is day light I was charged the amount for the full tank whereas I returned the car more than half full, this is so unfair as I was expecting to only pay less than R300 for the fuel. I wish someone can rectify this and also release my deposit of R750 since I have been charged a further R566.68 on my account.
