I've enjoyed the Panarotti's special at Pietermaritzburg, Galleria and Gateway branches a few times. In all cases, I have had nothing but great service. I am a vegetarian of at least 20 years now & never have any issue with my dietary choice.
On Thurs 5 Sept myself and partner spontaneously decided to enter Ushaka Marine World for dinner. Being Thursday we picked Panarottis for the special.
We were handed a menu but we jovially asked the waiter for the eat as much as you can special & noted that we were vegetarian. He seemed a bit taken aback and asked us if we could rather "order from the menu" as the kitchen was unable to make veg pizza as part of the special. I remained polite but enquired as to how it would make a difference if we ordered off the menu, to requesting a veg pizza from the kitchen as part of the special..Eventually the manager came over, a very amiable guy who I must commend for remaining calm & professional throughout. We ended up leaving the restaurant, the first restaurant I have ever had to leave because a vegetarian option was not offered and where I felt discriminated against because of dietary choice.
