Opening An Account without my Permission

I did an online application for an FNB account and I was stated that a consultant would call me back. Someone did call me back from the call centre. They went through the account details and told me what I would qualify for. I then said I cannot make a decision right away and then needed to look through the information I was being told and could this information be sent to me in writing. I was told that they were unable to do this and I should look at the information on the website. I suddenly get account statements and smses that this account is open and my card will be delivered to me so I emailed FNB and they indicated that my account is in fact opened and that I must send a letter and copy of my ID to cancel it. Why should I? This account should have never been opened. FNB is being deceitful is allowing this to happen so they can probably charge u bank charges. I would like this account closed immediately and inform others of what happened. They can go recall that telephone call and see what I stated.
