I went into the bank to close my account. Because my account was on a minus balance - the consultant told me that I would have to pay this off first before my account could be closed. She cut up my card and over the next few months - the account was settled and I was on a zero balance. According to the arrangement made - it is at this point that the account would be closed. Recently I had a consultant call to find out why I am not using my cheque account then I had consultants calling me to tell me that I am on another minus balance. 1. How did my account get to more than - R1000 without anybody calling me? 2. Who cancelled my arrangement to have my account closed? 3. Why am I expected to pay for an account I don't even have a card for?
