First National Bank
FNB handed my account to laywe

I'm currently in debt review and my cheque account overdraft was part of the debts to be paid. I have never defaulted on my account. All along the payments were made correctly but around February 2010 my cheque account was not paid anymore. I made inquiries with my debt counsellors (Debt Busters) but was told that the account was settled.
I then checked with FNB bank but was told that the account need to be closed as it was settled. When I checked my statements there was still a balance and when I called debt busters and fnb I was advised to the branch and ask them to reconcile the account and closed the cheque account. They could not close the account even after settling about R4800 because there is a hold.
The hold was put there because FNB has handed the account over to their lawyers and I was asked to pay R3200 which is less than what is on my account balance (R4800). While at the branch in Silverton I contacted the lawyers and was told that I must pay R10200. I don't know where this money comes from neither does FNB. I need FNB to please close this account down the interest will accumulate and will never be able to pay it again.
