Today I WENT to the Rosebank ATM during my 45min lunch hour, to do some account management, and the cheque card got swallowed. So i went to collections to get a debit card @ Rosebank Branch. Then i got my debit card, however i got told that i have to apply for the cheque card, and make some stupid call to apply for it. And so i did, spoke to a consultant called Ozwin, he then asked me some security questions, which i answered except that i had forgotten my postal address, and he told me that I the customer have to call one of the Standard Bank consultants there at Rosebank Branch to come confirm my details. This to me is shocking, given the fact that i have been a customer for Std bank for almost all my life, and the fact that one of the questions abOUt the address was incorrect was a big deal, and given that the machine at Std bank swallowed my card, then its all of a sudden my problem. I would have expected to be treated in a more dignified way since the card getting swallowed wasnt my fault. I need my card and i need it in 7 wd. ITS NOT MY PROBLEM THAT YOUR ATM MACHINES ARE IMPERFECT. AND I WONT PAY FOR THIS. OR ELSE I MIGHT AS WELL JOIN FNB, ITS A BETTER BANK I HEAR
