I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3 from FNB in October 2012. On the FNB website I definitely selected the button for insurance coverage for my handset.
On 11th December 2012 my phone fell at home and the screen broke.
I phoned FNB and I was instructed to get a quote from a reputable company and I got one from Playground who are actually located inside Cresta Mall. I sent the quote to FNB on 13 December 2012. I received no feedback on my claim and after a few emails requesting for feedback I was finally informed FNB was verifying whether this hand written quote was acceptable. Again it was silence and after I sent a few emails asking for feedback, finally on the 20th Dec. 2012 FNB sent me a typed form they said they received from Playground which I filled in and sent back that same day.
After that it was silence again, I sent many ignored emails, I finally received feedback before 8h00am on 11 Jan 2013 that the claim amount minus excess would be paid into my FNB bank account within 48hrs.
About 120hrs later, I am still waiting.
I will not recommend FNB Insurance Brokers to anyone, regrettably it's starting to leave a bad taste about FNB as a company altogether.
