Early December 2012, Ladysmith was hit by a terrible hail storm that left my house and household contents in ruins. On the 09/12/2012 I registered a claim with FNB Brokers where my contents are insured. On the 13/12/2012 an assessor came at assessed the damages and advised me on the amount that would be paid out. Till today my claim has still not been paid out. I called FNB Brokers on several occasion and after holding for a long time I'm told that someone will be in contact with me shortly but no one ever calls back. How long does it take to process a claim? Why doesn't anyone ever get back to me? Is it not my right to be informed about the status of the claim? Do I need to approach the Short Term Ombudsman for assistance regarding this matter?
