My home loan application has been stalled for over 3 weeks.

Being an existing homeowner with standard bank I applied for a substitution loan 3 and a half weeks ago. This is where a loan with multiple people is taken over by one of the people.

After 3 days I heard back that there were unable to confirm my employment. This was due to Telkom having listed our ADSL number as our contact number.

After giving our correct number and calling back each day I have had to do the following: Send through confirmation of employment twice from our payroll department, Call every day to follow up, Reapply for the loan (as this was quickest way), Log notes so that they check our website/letterhead for our number.

As till now I have heard the same reply everytime I follow up. It is still in progress and to call back the next day.

While the call centre is polite and logs tickets everyday it seems they have no power to help me and there is a different story with every person I call as to why I cannot be helped.

The sad part of this is that the company I am employed by is located 50m from a standard bank branch and is a Standard bank vendor. I expect better when I have had the loan for 7 years.
