Home Loan Application - moving us backward

We've applied for a home loan telephonically and sent through the required documents. I then receeived a call that my documents were outstanding, I emailed these. When I followed up on the application I was told that my bank statements were outstanding and that the application was being stopped. I sent them and called a day later to confirm that they had been received, they told me the documents had not been indexed contrary to what I was told that I could confirm in 4 hours. I call again to find out progress on the application, now I am told they are unable to confirm our employment details. Ok, I send these through and check on the application again, documents haven't been indexed, later I have to give them a page number out of the directory. I ask for an escalation on this, when I follow up am told they do not take the numbers I give to them. They have to do their own search in order to ensure the company is legitimate. But wait I can send through the letterhead, what happened to legitimacy and not getting the numbers from me. I have never experienced such terrible service, its been more than a month now and Standard bank is definitely moving us backward. I give up!
