I was involved in an accident 01 March 2013, Friday evening.
I called Hollard on Monday, 04 March to log a claim, I told them that my car was not in a good state to be driven. I was told that they will arrange a rental and they would get the car towed. None of this happened, I had to rent a car out of my own pocket as I needed to get to work. My car was towed on Friday the 8th March. I was not given a rental, I called on Tuesday and I was told that they had to ensure that premiums were up to date before giving a rental. It was now the 12th and my premiums are paid by the 1st of every month. To this day 06 April car is still not fixed. I asked about the delay I was told that the assessor took long and they don't know why, authorisation to the panel beater was given only on 26 March.
I rented a car from the 2nd March to 12 March for R5200 own expense, I have to pay excess of R2500. Now I have reached maximum days for car hire with the insurance company I have to rent on my won again which might cost another R5000. This will mean I have spent R12500. My biggest problem is the fact that I am spending more money. This is poor service.
