We received a call from ABSA LIFE to subscribe to a Hospital plan for my family (R500 pay-out each day any of the family members are in the hospital). I took out this plan and paid each month for 2 and a half years. My husband was submitted to the hospital for an emergency back operation end last year, as well was a clot in his lung this year. We retrieved the neccesary claim forms form ABSA, and sent it along with all the required documents to ABSA - no response for 3 months... My daughter did follow-ups via email and fax - and the call centre told her it is in prosess... She phoned in again, and they told her the reason for non pay-out of the claim, is due to my husband not being covered, I am the only one who is covered. I was put under false pretenses, when I subscribed, it was ment for the whole family! They even took everyone's details? I feel like cancelling the plan, but then all those payments I made will be for nothing!
