My Aunt and I went to one of absa branch in ladysmith to load power ot attorney and a lady by the name of Chandhika Maharaj who assisted us requested a our proof of address I had a recent Vodacom statement she refused to take it she said absa does not take vodacom statements and because my aunt didn't anything on her name I requested that she should give us an absa declaration form 3122 so my aunts landlord can complete and take to the police station for commissioner of oath she also refused she said absa does not use declaration and
Absa does not work with the police. I found it very shocking because as far as I know as per absa's business rules both verification are used to fica the clients accounts. Now my aunt is lying in the hospital the family needs access to her account to pay for the hospital bills and we can't do that because the bank needs her to come to the bank to identity her and she is in no state to come to the branch. I would like to know from absa what must we do in this situation where as they write something on their business rules and they practice the next.
