On 26/03/2013 i requested a bank cheque from std bank the glen, the amount plus costs to be debited from my blue bean std bank card. The cost as per their pricing and benefits guide 2013 is R90.00 for the bank cheque, nothing more, nothing less. To my surprise on my new statement there were 3 charges, 1 for R70.00 and 2 for R90.00. I contacted std bank call centre and you won't believe the reasons and excuses given for the charges, and these changing every time i spoke to another person. CLEARLY, the staff are not trained to do the job. I have to mention that on about 4 previous occ over the last couple of years, i had the same expieriance. Every time std bank tries to rip me off, and if they are doing it to me, they are doing it to all their custmers. But this was the last time, i am closing all my acc and transferring about R70 000 to another bank. Std bank has lost my current and future business, and this for R 160.00.Now who are the losers?
