First National Bank
Slow Lounge Fees-Terms and Conditions

I have had my account debited for an amount of R750 for visiting the slow lounge in Nov 2012. When I queried the debit when it eventually came on my account in Jan 2013 I was told there was an error with the billing system and that I was debited at a later stage for my visits due to not meeting the terms and conditions on spend on my Platinum Cheque card. However I argued the point that I would gladly have declined the Slow Lounge visit if I was told that I didn't qualify for the free visits up front. However to make matters worse, I visited the lounge 2 times subsequent to my initial visit, so my total bill was R750, which was only taken on almost 3 months later. Upon phoning FNB I was told nothing could be done, but I am sure I am within my right to dispute this as the debit of my account was done in a unlawful way, as no one asked my permission to deduct money from my account for services renders, not withstanding the fact that I didn't know if I even had to pay for the services. I have contacted FNB and had no joy, I am seriously considering moving banks, as FNB has become a big uncaring bank, not what I initially joined.
