My fnb account was closed as i wasnt using it for some time - however i got a letter from fnb to say that it will be closed in 21 days if i dont contact the bank - i however contacted the bank within that 21days and my account was closed already. I then attempted to re-open my account but my ID apparently was never scanned onto my profile by the fnb branch who opened my account initially... 2. Then my ID wasnt in good order ..3.Then the consultant spoke the the manager who advised that they will re-open my account in order for my salary to be paid in but no money may be withdrawn as there was a block put on my account... which was ok.. I had to then apply for a new ID and produce the receipt to the manager, as well as have a temp id and an affidavit to show that i applied for a new ID.. ( Had to take a day off work to do this...).. Got to the bank to produce these docs to be advised that my account was still fully closed - no money can come in and no money can go out... then another consultant assisted me, who offered me a temp card and he will order me a new chip card at no cost.. Had to pay R68.00 for the temp card. Then my temp card was cancelled a few days later...
