Wednesday morning 27/02/2013 I drew money from an ATM, a short while after that I received a sms to say that my card has been cancelled. Later that morning I contacted the call centre about the sms and they verified the card cancellation and also confirmed that it was their fault and would order a new one which will be available within 5 to 8 working days free of charge but in the meantime I could go to any branch to ask them for a temporary card.
The next day I went to the FNB branch at Paarl Mall and asked for a temporary card and then asked if there was a charge for this card and she said yes. She also said that the chip pin card will be reissued to me free of charge because they were at fault but I have to pay for the temp card. I tried to explain to her that surely it is due to their mistake as well that I have to get a temp card and I should not be charged for their mistake but she insisted that the charge will have to be paid. I told her to cancel it then.
I'm inconvenienced by having my card cancelled, rearrange my day because I planned to pay my accounts using that card, waste time and fuel going to get a temp card then I'm still asked to pay for it!
