Capitec - is the savings worth the hassles?

Arrived at Greenstone to open a savings account. The consultant who served me said there was an issue with my ID which was basically saying that my ID wasnt ligit. This ID was issued to me on 09/11/2001 by Department of home affairs and has been used to purchase two cars - through a Bank I might add. I have had my VISA granted from it not to mention all the other things you have to produce your ID for. While I realise my green ID book is old, it is certainly not illegal and was issued legitimately. The consultant then called his manager who explained that "we went on training and we were told that if the ID picture has plastic over it... blah blah bla". I advised the manager that I could walk to the bank next door and my ID will be accepted - he still didnt see the light! I had no choice but to go to another bank but in hindsight, it was the most fantastic service I have ever experienced at a bank - thank you FNB. I then went back to Capitec to advise the manager that Capitec can take some lesons from FNB on customer service but all the consultants had left. Is the bad service worth the few bucks you might save with Capitec, I personally dont think so!
