Today I tried opening a new account at Capitec, disaster... When I first arrived at the bank, I was "inspected" to see if my documents were in order. I was told that my pay slip (proof of residential address) did not have a date on due to it being cut off by the printer. I had no problem with this so I returned 20 min later with a new pay slip.

A consultant assisted me and disappeared with my documents only to return to tell me that my ID was "illegal" and they had a problem with a acronym on my pay slip for leave balances due.

So I was told to go to the Department of Home affairs and then return to open my account, thank you Capitec for discovering my "Fake ID" which I use nearly everyday.

My current bank may be more expensive but at least they offer some sort of customer service.

I really thought Capitec would be different!!!
