I'm currently in the process of building my third property financed by Standard Bank. Thus, allowing me to say that not once I have had a pleasant experience in dealing with Standard Bank home loans. Previously they lagged with processing progress payments resulting in me being embarrass for never paying the builder on time and paying additional fees. Now I'm struggling to get unobtainable documentation required by them before I can submit at the deeds office. My lawyers and myself always have poor communication with this financial institution when inquiring a request. My biggest headache is to obtain documents they require that doesn't exist??? My opinion is this is due to incompetent people working in their home loan department while being understaffed and you the customer just being a number. Know if you deal with Standard Bank building your house YOU WILL HAVE HEADACKES
