I tried to open a bank acc at fnb on sat the 16th I was told to bring my original divorce decree cause I was still on my maiden surname on their systems and I was not even aware of it. This morning I decided I am coming late to work so I went to the family court to get my decree and I went straight back to fnb. Came there the same lady who helped me on Saturday helped me today. I gave her the decree she went into the offices and came back a few minutes later and said her manager said I must bring a proof of residents with my maiden surname, so I asked her where must I get one cause I`m not using my maiden surname for the past twelve years now and she told me she don`t know. Than she told me to go to home affairs and ask for a letter to proof I am no longer using my maiden surname. All this is unnecessary cause the decree states it all. I was cause it was time consuming waiste of my money I could`ve come straight to work I felt helpless even though their slogan states"fnb how can we help you. They carried on as if I wanted a loan instead of a bank acc. Their customer service stinks.
