First National Bank
?!?!?!?!?!?!

I went to the bank to open a business account.
My surname is Lotter.
I was married, Jordaan, and divorced 4 years ago. Jordaan that I was married to passed away last year.
I changed my surname back to my maiden name Lotter.
When the bank clerk opened some file on his computer he told me that I had a profile with them already under Jordaan, created by Discovery Health.
I took out my old ID, Jordaan together with the death certificate of Mr Jordaan that indicates that were were divorced and presented it to him and explained that I took my maiden name back.
Also with me I had my new ID, Lotter, proof of address, my Cipro documentation.
The bank refused to open an account for me unless I bring them proof that I have changed my surname!?!?!?!?!?
What is an ID document other than proof of my surname and where do they want me to find other proof?
I am sure that I can walk into any other bank and open a bank account without any problem, but my first choice was FNB. Just a pity they refused to help me!
