So after trying to make an Internet payment all morning with no success I called Absa call centre... Sorry madam your account has been frozen for Fica you need to report to your nearest branch with ID and proof of residence. To which I reply... how can they just freeze your account with no notification of any sort. "But we do send sms or someone calls" she said. Well I'm still waiting for that call or sms and now here I am unable to make payments or draw money for the milk and diapers that I urgently need for tonight. I asked to speak to Supervisor or Manager and they were all conveniently in a meeting (funny how that always happens). On the other hand at least the call centre answered the phone where my own branch just rings and rings and rings... So I would just like to thank my bank which I have been with for years and years for treating me like a valued customer... NOT!
