I have a cheque account and is lucky to have a positive balance. During Sept 2012 I realised that I do not any longer received interest on the account. Secure notices were place on their website and to date various versions are received why it is stopped. BUT the bottom line is that their Corporate bosses have decided it is not necessary to encourage savings. It seems you need a R100 000 balance in a money market account before you get interest that is worth mentioning but still below inlation. The prime rate is stable for a long time know but still they decided to adjust the price structures to make a very healthy profit to get nice bonus. Followed by my struggle I also request that my overdraft facility be cancelled also through the secure notice, but every month it is still deducted. O ha ha they call me and asked me again and again what I mean, but nothing happened. Again we sponsor corporate and all the bonus payments. I even make an appointment with my Prestige banker who promised that the Service Manager will call me. Again I have remind her that no response are received. At the end the Service Manager also did not honour her promise to sort out the overdraft matter.
