Today I signed up for cover with AA although the premium is higher than my current insurer. I had a string of bad encounters with Budget I decided to move, whether the premium is high or not. I got the summary of my cover by email and when I went through it I saw "Broker fee" I called and the lady who answered told me it's a fee I pay roadside assistance and other assist services. What's surprising is I had a policy with AA on the same vehicle last year and I had no such fee and the fact thet it's called a broker fee but services as an assist fee is providing incorrect, conflicting and confusing information. I asked her to remove that if it's optional as I never had it with my previous cover, she said if she removed it I would not qualify for roadside assistance! That is a basic service from an insurer, really? Have insurance without that? I was now getting frustrated and told her to cancel the pending activation of the policy and she said the cancellations dept had left already and she would leave a message for someone to contact me tomorrow. I want to leave my current insurer because I am unhappy and I'm already not getting any joy from my future insurer.
