Sanlam
Estate

My husband died 4 months ago. With Sanlam being in charged of the Estate. We approached them. So that one of the family members can assist with the Estate in order to minimize the exactors fees. We were told at the time not to worry about losing the house as the fees wont be more than approximately R18000. Now that the estate has been handed in the exactors fees amounts up the R65000 and this needs to be paid before end of Feb or the house will be sold. I did ask if it was at all possible to make an arrangement to pay of the R65000 fees, in order for me not to sell the house which is fully paid off. The answer was no.
I was given 3 OPTIONS 1 To take out a bond on the house. 2 to take out a personal loan or 3 to sell the house. Due to the fact that my husband were on debt counseling I am unable to take out the 2nd bond or to get al loan.
Why must I sell my house that is paid for just to Handel my husbands estate witch does not have any value in except for the house? We were married in community of property thus is half the house mine. Now I have to sell my house just to get this paid. And lose everything.!
