Is FNB uninterested in new clients?

I planned to switch all my accounts to FNB (go eBucks!) and required advice regarding which account types would best suit my needs. I first visited my nearest branch in Killarney Mall. After eventually finding the right queue to stand in (no assistance offered), I waited. Only one person was serving new clients and had to be tempted away from a quick tea break at that. Her knowledge of the product was lower than mine (the internet really is wonderful). Her interest in my business was limited (and this is being kind) and then she seemed amazed that I wasn't jumping to open an account. I left with minimal information and much frustration; she didn't seem all that concerned either!

So then I went to Hyde Park.

Why did I bother?

I waited 10 minutes and then left without having so much as having been greeted by the "welcome to FNB, how can we help you? " man.. At least Hyde Park HAD one!

Given the setup of all FNB branches one would think that the staff would be falling over themselves to be amenable and available to eager new clients waiting in the sales area.

They lost out today.
