I opened a FNB cheque account about 3 weeks ago. I had to go into the branch to get my card, AFTER my husband had to sign on my behalf (proof of water & lights in his name), otherwise I could not get my card.
I registered for online banking, what a friggin slep!!! You have to go to an ATM to verify and complete online banking registration, after registering online, after filling in forms at FNB branch. Why don't you just take a blood sample!
This morning I used my card and swiped at Makro, 2min later a sms comes through saying R2000 was taken out of my account, no detail. I phone in, worried. It was FNB!!! Took R2000 out of my account for and old credit card debt of 5 years ago.
They did NOT inform me that they will be taking money out of my account, they did NOT inform me of the amount that will be taken out and for the last 34minutes I have been holding on and struggling with customer care and their legal department to speak to a consultant.
I will close this account immediately and tell every single person I meet about this pathetic bank that misinforms clients.
