So I go to the ATM at Sanridge and no money comes out. I check my balance and it says available balance zero. Major panic as I immediately think I have been "cleaned out". Try credit card. Same thing. So I race home and call the Helpline. After getting all my details and putting me on hold for a while and telling me that some systems were down her side... she says, I need to tell you that all ATMs in South Africa are doing the same thing. Meanwhile I check online and there is nothing wrong with my bank account, funds are there, no problem.
If there is a problem like this then Nedbank should send an SMS to its customers. I went through a lot of nervous stress thinking ahead as to how I would solve this, going away in a day and Christmas and holidays etc. Why did she not tell me immediately that there is such a problem.
How could Nedbank allow a situation where its customers all over SA get told they have no available funds.
My nerves!
