My wife and I applied for vehicle finance last year sometime only to be told it was rejected due to us having a judgement against us from FNB Homeloans department. We have tried to have this rescinded but with no luck! We were not aware of any judgement against us as the homeloan was in arrears in 2008 when our house burnt down and I was out of work for a few months while they rebuilt the house. The arrears has since then been sorted out and we even received a letter from FNB Homeloans stating that all is in date and no arrears owed. The sheriff of the court never served me a summons to appear in court and state our case neither can they prove that I or my wife ever received a summons. Since then we have not been able to get finance for anything or even buy anything on credit. I am a platinum account holder with FNB and they have even offered me an upgrade of my account to that of Private Client! I have been told that FNB Homeloans will only give permission to rescinder the judgement once the bond is paid up in full. We still have 15 years left to do that!!! We wish this could be dealt with as our lives have come to a standstill due to this problem.
