Smart device delay and poor communication

I ordered a smart device online on the 24th of november through FNB, i have done this previously and i recieved my device within 3 days, pleased with this service i ordered another and i have still not recieved my device while being advised by call center staff that it takes something around 10 working days which is over a long time ago.

my problem is that i am getting this device as a gift for somebody for christmas and i might not recieve it in time because after various complaints they have managed to get it to the courier company (DigitalPlanet) whom i had to contact today to organise delivery and i was advised by them that i will only recieve the device 5 wokring days from next week tuesday... which is infact christmas eve?...a full month from the day i ordered.

Surely if you expect an influx of orders in december you need to plan accordingly and provide the service promised by advertising.
