Why can't we as an owner and customer request info

This morning my wife phone and queried a settlement value on our bond.
She was denied this info because of apparent time for settlement required.
We only wish to enquire the amount in order to know how much we should get together to settle.

For years now I battle to get a copy of my property title deeds. Apparently at the time when the bond was moved from Absa to Nedbank the persons at the time lost it. The only documents sent to me was alot of papers with stamps on.

Thus we request all the above.
