For 25 plus.. years my Husband and myself had 2 house bonds through Nedbank. My Husband paid off the main bond about 2 years ago and I paid off the smaller bond /- 6 months ago. Recently we bought another property cash and decided to apply for a bond for home improvements. Nedbank declined the application which was placed through Better Bond... the reason being that 'THEY DID NOT KNOW THE CLIENT' Our bonds were paid by debit order and in all the years we never defaulted. I cannot believe that we have been treated like this. How can they not know us? To top it all, a consultant from Nedbank contacted my husband today to ask if he would like to open a cheque account with Nedbank!!!
We have since received an offer from ABSA and have accepted. We also received an offer from FNB.
