Hi there.. I have a discovery card and called to close this today as I have not used this card since May. Note this is not a credit card as such as I have to transfer money into this card to use it. I have been trying to close this account and called now to be told that i have to pay about R500 to have this account closed for bank charges. Bank charges for what may i ask? I have not used this card in months and not to mention you charge me a fee for visa as well and this goes of my account yearly. Now i ask if these bank charges can stop accumulating and the lady could not comprehend what i asked and what i wanted done. I am not paying bank charges for something that i dont think is applicable and that i am liable for. I dont get the benefits of a credit card here as i am using my own money thats transferred into this card. Please can this be sorted out immediately as its rather dissapointing the type of service and that i have to pay for my card to be closed
