UNABLE TO CLOSE ACCOUNT

I have NEVER experienced such difficulty trying to close a cheque account and such poor service. I was in the Rissik street, Polokwane branch on the 25th September to close my account. After spending more than 2 hours waiting for an consultant I had to leave and return to the office. On the 27th September I was at the Savannah Polokwane branch from 12h30 until 15h00, WAITING for a consultant,
Today I returned to FNB Rissik Street branch, waited for more than an hour, finally I was assisted by a Yolanda Seyebona. I was informed that she cannot close the account as it is now a risk 4 account and is overdrawn by almost R900, in BANK CHARGES. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE, I do not have an overdraft facility on the account!
Is this the way FNB makes their money to pay for all the "Steve" and "How can we help you" adverts.
HOW LONG and will I EVER be able to SUCESSFULY CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT?
