END UP OWING THOUSANDS BY OPENING A CHQ ACC!

Approx 4 months ago I went to fnb to open a gold cheque account. I was told that salary switching and debit switching would be done on my behalf. As all debits were in fact switched, but not my salary, debits had gone off the account with no funds available. Upon receiving my first bank statement from fnb I saw that I was being billed almost R2000, which I then transferred into this account thinking it was my debits which had been paid, only to later realise NONE of them had been paid and this amount was made up solely of bank charges! Upon going to fnb to close the account due to this and just plain BAD service at the times I had visited the branch, I had to fork out an additional amount of almost R1500, again, BANK CHARGES only! What a joke! Upon showing Nedbank my bank statements, they were shocked!!! I open a cheque account, u render me no service but I end up being owing you thousands! There must be a way this can be resolved and I can be refunded my money. The consultant also showed no understanding even interest in my situation, just escorted me to the tellers to pay the amount owing and closed the account. I hope this mistake can be rectified!
