Accessible billing

I took a credit card in 2007 with African bank for an amount of R3000. Monthly they deducted and in 2011 October I made a lumpsum payment of R3000 .. To date African bank has listed me and my account is still active and busy accumulating interest to the value of R18000.00 which also having a negative impact on my ITC due to their ridiculous billing and failing to close this account. I am so devastated at this and the way that they recoup money from us clients. Please can someone help as
