I was involved in an accident on 2012-12-07. The claim was processed in 2013-01. I was the innocent party. The damage to my vehicle was minor. The repairs were quoted at R10000.00. I had to pay an excess of R2500.00 in order for me to receive my car. I payed the amount to the auto repairers and was promised by my insurance company (Etana Insurance) that I would be reimbursed. It is now 2013-04-09 and I have not been reimbursed.
I have been phoning and following up with four different parties involved in this insurance claim and each time they pass the buck onto the other party. The other parties include Mutual & Federal (guilty party insurance), Alexander Forbes (innocent party brokers), Groen96 (guilty party brokers). This whole process has been handled with the utmost lack of professionalism. Up to this point I have been doing all the following up with regards to the progress of the claims process and in doing so have been wasting numerous office hours. If this is the type service provided I advise everyone to find a different alternative (but I doubt you will find any).
