My car broke down in Pretoria and after it was fixed by Hi-Q in Silverton, I tried to withdraw money from one of the ATM's at the Standard Bank in Silverton. The transaction went through my account but the money was not paid out to me. I waited outside at the ATM for about ten minutes and the ATM just keep on "processing". I asked one of the cleaners to go into the bank and get me somebody to assist. The person came out and told me that the money will not come out after such long time and he took me to one of the managers (Sepho). He phoned to the Secunda branch and after about half an hour he told me that the money will be back in by account after 12 that night. I had to borrow money to release my vehicle and now I am sitting without money for the week-end. I phoned Anuscha Naicker from Standard Bank Private banking Secunda and she told me that I must wait till Monday and then they will try to sort it out. She also asked me why did I try to draw money and not rather swiped my card at the dealer (strange question) To me it is straight forward, they must just do a count on the money in the ATM and then give me the money that I withdraw.
