I tried to withdraw money from a Standard Bank ATM with my overseas bank card at the end of April. The ATM did not release the money due to a 'processing error'. However the money was debited off my overseas bank account. I went to the Standard Bank Menlyn Park branch to report the case. Up until today I have not seen my money back in my account nor has anybody from Standard Bank conntacted me regarding my case. I also wrote a complaint to Standard Banks customer care centre, but they seem to be so busy with dealing with complaints that I haven't received an answer yet.
A similar incidence happended to me at an ABSA ATM, where the funds where also not released but went off my overseas account. And guess what - within one day, without me going to ABSA the money was back in my account. So Standard Bank - if you don't know how to do it, ask ABSA and then I can finally get back my money
