And I see I am not the only one this has happened to. I never received any form of communication regarding the need for ABSA to need a copy of insurance confirmation. I received an SMS to say that R480.00 had been deducted off my account for the policy. Strange that they could not email or phone me but as soon as they took the cash then they could send me a notification. Within 2 hours I had the letter from my insurance company and I am still waiting for confirmation of the refund. Last strange issue. Apparently the ABSA AIP insurance is through Hollard who in fact is my current insurance agency. Did not realise it was legal for you to have multiple insurance polices, but I reckon the time I need to claim then they will only acknowledge one policy.
