L once applied for a Capital graduate programme at ABSA and after having successful passed the interviews and was now on last stage to see the recruiting department. All of a sudden ABSA started raising issue on permits etc yet on their job advert they state clearly on how they recruit from the whole Africa Region. The usual process is that if the company offers you a job they need to support your application in granting a work permit from the home affairs, but, ABSA wants you to use another company`s work permit to work for them which is a total breach of contract from both sides. How can you be offered a job by ABSA yet you have a work permit under UNILEVER.As if it wasnt enough they created a PAN African graduate programme that is to be launched in February/March and funny enough they sent me an email rejecting me saying l have applied for a programme that is yet to be launched.l find it very fraudlent for companies like ABSA to use other nationals as pawns in motivating funding for these graduate programmes. Why should you write interviews yet the company doesnt recognise you. No wonder l dont have even any bank account with them they are just same like Vodacom poor services.
