I have had a very bad experience with ABSA of being denied access to my funds due to my work permit having expired.
I submitted a renewal of my Work permit to DHA .During this period of waiting for my permit, i received a letter from ABSA informing me that my permit was about to expire and if i failed to submit a new permit, they would block my acc.
To my surprise, my acc was blocked so I visited an ABSA branch for more information. The consultants told me to provide proof that i have submitted a renewal of my work permit, after which they would send this docs to the ABSA Foreign nationals department and my account would be unblocked for a period of 2 mnths. They also mentioned that in case my permit isn't ready during this 2 months, then i should come back with the same documents and they would extend my account for another 2 mnths.
My account was unblocked for two months, unfortunately my permit still hasn't come through so i visited the branch just before they could block my account and provided the documents as they had advised. A few days later, my account was block and they say they cant unblock it more than once.
i need to access my money else my family goes hungry!!!
