Having been driving 130km to and from work, I was finally successful in a job application only 9km from my house. After going for interviews and finally checks were done. Which came back with my name and husband's listed as. Reason for listing - supplied payslip and bank statement. Company obtained info from Southern African Prevention Service who referred me to ABSA as the lister. Apparently ABSA listed us in 2009 when we supplied docs for home loan application. Honestly I am very shocked and angry about this! Why didn't ABSA notify us of this so that we clear our names. In 2010 I applied for vehicle finance and credit card with ABSA, which ABSA approved. None of the listing came up. My husband applied for a cheque account at ABSA two months ago, which went through their international hub, checks were done, but nothing of the listing came back. He was even offered a credit card with the cheque account. We are now waiting for 2009 bank statements to prove to ABSA our innocence, but at the same time my job offer has been revoked. Our names are tarnished This is truly unfair!!
